Dear readers,
In this newsletter we would like to inform you about the latest developments regarding the RESTORE technology, but also beyond that about news from District Heating and Cooling systems, Thermochemical Energy Storages (TCES) and Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC).
The development of the RESTORE technical solution is in the final phase! Stable continuous operation with heat charging and discharging cycles has been successfully proven by TU Wien with copper-sulfate and Potassium-carbonate. Further scale-up of the pilot plant to 5 kW and 30 kW is ongoing. Regarding the second key technology, an innovative reversible ORC (rORC) prototype was recently developed. The rORC prototype’s subcomponents were meticulously designed, manufactured and assembled by Enerbasque. Then, the prototype was transported to the POLIMI facilities for testing and performance validation under conditions defined for the RESTORE system. The extensive experimental campaign is ongoing. Moreover, the RESTORE model library on IPSE GO is ready for modeling the six Virtual Use-Cases of the RESTORE project. Stakeholders are invited to join the LinkedIn group to test the plattform for modelling own Use-Cases and to gain support using the tool. The project team is looking forward for the last project months to successfully conclude the project.
